Similarly, the mind helps us in our weakness. For we do not know why to pray, as we should, but the Spirit himself defends us, with a groaning action for words. There is no need to point fingers or pop the dunce cap; this is a simple mistake if you are not familiar with the original context. The goal of looking at the abused verses is to encourage us to take a closer look at the writing and learn the context of what we read. We are not the original audience of the Gospel of Matthew, so we have to work a little harder to understand what the details mean. What I mean is that we do not know the culture, history, style of writing and cross-sectional references of the Alttestament, like someone who lived in Matthew`s time. I`m afraid to give them the message, but that`s not the purpose of this verse! The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his servants what is to happen soon. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who was witnessing the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, yes, of all that he saw. God assures us that God will be part of it and bless us when we go through the process of bringing our brother or sister back into the Church in Christ. It is a question of welcoming and denying membership in the Church. But what was Jesus talking about when it wasn`t about prayer? Jesus often spoke of Jewish laws and the cultural norms of the time, and inserted an additional trick that better reflected the kingdom of God.
